Falkin tried his best to be gently, and he didnt really hear her noises through his own grunts and other noises. He had liked it alot more then she had though. Afterward he nuzzled her, wishing he could just talk to her. He knew Relic didnt fault him for not being able to nicker softly to her afterwards, or when he meant to be affectionate but he didnt know about her. [Are you happy in my herd?] He asked her again, talking to her mind, thinking his words. It was odd, he could even sear he could hear the tone of his own sounds sometimes when he did this. He wondered if others heard the thoughts like that. Falkin thought of his father for a moment. He missed his mom and dad. He wondered if his father would at all be proud. Falkin wasnt the cruel stallion they found him to be. At least he didnt think so. [You think Im doing good?] Falkin expressed his doubts to her. Relic was the only other one he did that with.

"I understand my love..." Simara nickered to him trying to get control of her temper. But she had waited to long to get such little information about the colt once it was born. He had given other mares so much more.  Her temper was only fully taken care of when he wished to spend sometime alone with them. This pleased her greatly and she walked with him to a quiet spot. The colt was growing very tired, and as soon as they settled he nuzzled himself under his mothers feet. Simara stood grooming her loves mane and his neck enjoying her time with him. It was very important to her. "Dont worry old man... I love you forever..." She nickered teasingly to him, only because he had mentioned getting older before. She playfully nipped at him, sometimes such a playful mare when she was happy. Simara searched his body, checking on his aches and pains. She did this often, trying not to let him know. Sometimes sending little healing touchs were she could, and she did this now.

Usually when Falkin came to her with these doubts she just listened. Giving him comforting looks and making sure that he didn't feel like she wouldn't hear him out. But now she felt he really needed an answer. "You are doing fine," she was sure it was because he had Relic's help. Relic had learned a lot being Masterpiece's second in command. She had a lot of respect for the mare. "The mares are happy. They carry your foals willingly and all of them will make it through foaling easily this year." She hadn't meant to say this year in the tone she did, cluing him in to the fact that she knew something was going to happen to one of his mares. He also knew that his father would lose a mare. Not the one that he'd brought to the herd but one that he had acquired. She didn't know that she was right about that. That he'd already lost her.

Masterpiece nudged her a little to tell her to knock it off. He checked his surroundings like he usually did. Resting his head down. Thinking about things. They hadn't had any threats from Falkin. And for now they were safe. His worry was easing. But he couldn't help but feel something may happen. And he knew the humans would be on the move sooner or later. This was prime round up country. They would be here to gather and he had a plan for it. But it wasn't fool proof. He was going to lose horses. The safest place for them was the valley but it was a long hard journey back and there were too many mares with newborns. He sighed. "Love you as well," he told her, "you are so good to me."

Falkin nodded his dial at her words. They were often all that he needed to feel better. And he started to settle as he often did after her ressuring words. But then he caught the end of the second things she said. His head turned to the side a bit. "Who isnt gonna foal well next year? What did that mean?" Falkin snorted at her suddenly demanding more information about what she said. The first time hed taken such a firm and serious tone with her. Young brute wanted to know all the info she had. He was angry with her for holding things back. Important things like the well being of one of his mares. It seemed almost like a betrayal. He even reached to her and nipped her side. "Tell all you know..."

"And I always will be..." Simara snuggled against the stallion but she like the little colt was growing tired. But the mare didnt wanna lay down. She knew how at risk they were with all of the foals, and such a large herd. She knew why her stallion worried so. Simara really wished that he would rest more often. "How long will we stay here? You thinking of moving again? " When his worrying got to high, he seemed to move them. But a move seemed even more risky then staying to her. Her eyes scanned over the herd. All seemed well. Suddenly her eyes looked to an unknown stallion in the distance... he was just on the border of their land they had claimed.

"Nobody is going to die," she said quickly. Knowing that if his temper go tthe best of him there could be trouble. "But I wouldn't suggest Relic carrying another foal for next year. Although if you don't breed her then you might have troubles keeping others from her. And her filly. She'll be two here soon as well." Looking uneasy she moved a few steps to her left. Keeping her hindquarters parallel to him. She'd avoided being bred long enough and knew that after they'd done what they'd done she'd be in foal and have a colt by him. One she'd guard with her life. But in a way she was weary of him becoming angry and hurting someone. She looked over at Relic and to her filly and then at the rest of the herd. Nobody was even paying them any attention and she was a naturally flighty mare.

"I think it's best if we move," he said, "there will be round ups soon with the weather changing. And our herd is always sought after. We need to get back in an area that the humans can't get to." He sighed, "But there are so many young foals and there are so many predators. If we stay here we may lose most of the herd to humans. If we go we may lose some of the foals to cougars." He looked down at his young son. "I need to think it over some more before I decide."
